How strategic human resource management contributes to the organizations

All the organizations in the world want to get a competitive advantage over their rivals and want to make the products of their organizations unique. In order to achieve a competitive advantage, organizations should set their goals, objectives that align with the vision and the mission of the organization (Armstrong, 2006). Therefore, the decisions that they make in order to achieve the goals and objectives should be accurate.

HRM departments of the organizations always deal with the employees in that organization in other words they handle the human capital. When considering human capital among other resources, it is an important resource and the only resource that can not be survived the organization.

Therefore, organizations deal with this resource very strategically and these are the reasons for the importance of strategic management when managing the organization’s human resources (Hameed, 2011). When developing strategic human resource planning, involves seven steps process. The first step is to understanding the organization’s objectives because without understanding the objectives employees can not go in the right direction and they will be like searching for different things in the dark.

The second step is to evaluate employee capabilities. The capabilities of the employees are very important to the organizations in order to achieve a competitive advantage. Therefore, it is crucial to identify the level of capabilities of the employees.

Then organizations can decide whether need to improve capabilities, or if improving how to improve and what kind of workshop or activities are needed to achieve (Hameed, 2011). In the fourth step, organizations analyze the sufficiency of the capabilities in order to achieve the goals.

Then organizations identify the future human resource requirement. Then determining the tool required for the employees to finish the job. Then implementation of the strategy and finally evaluation of the actions.

There are many benefits for the organization from strategic human resource management. When evaluating the performance, they will understand the level of skills, knowledge, and abilities of the employees to organize the workshops and skill development programs.

Further, it may result in identifying the employees with misunderstandings and miss directions and make them in the correct direction and increase understanding. In addition, employees focus on the results of the process and it ensures that goals are aligned with the company’s mission and finally it may increase the profitability of the organization.
